New Album „Mountain Time“ – out November 27 on Unit Records
Ten years after „Aerial Image“, Reinhold Schmölzer presents his third jazz orchestra album "Mountain Time". The title track is released as a single on October 27.
On November 27, 2026, Unit Records releases „Mountain Time“, the new jazz orchestra album by Reinhold „Reini“ Schmölzer – following „Miraculous Loss Of Signal“ (2012) and „Aerial Image“ (2016).
The alpine landscape, with its unspoiled nature and close proximity to the mountains, has long fascinated Reini. Living at 1,400 meters above sea level has left its mark not only on his life, but also on his music. A distinctive feature of this recording is the hammered dulcimer – an instrument rooted in alpine traditions yet rarely heard in a jazz orchestra. Its shimmering sound adds a unique color to the ensemble's palette. Whether the inspiration comes from the breathtaking views, the profound silence, or simply the thinner mountain air remains, at least scientifically speaking, an open question.
First single: „Mountain Time“ – October 27
The title track, featuring Raphael Meinhart (vibraphone), Andreas Lettner (drums) and Michael Lagger (piano), will be available on all streaming platforms from October 27.
